Pega How-to Guide: Introduction

Welcome to the Debunkum Beaver Pega How-to Guide Series. The objective of this series is to help you implement various Pega features in a much faster and efficient way.

Step-by-step guide and screenshots are provided throughout the guide, which made it suitable for both New Users of Pega as well as Senior and Experienced Pega SSA/LSA.

Apart from the above, there is also another very important purpose - to help CLSA candidates in their Readiness Exams and Architecture Exams.

For both the Readiness Exams and Architecture Exams, you can broadly divide the exam questions into 2 types:
  1. Those that are taught and included in the course materials
  2. Those that are not taught and is not readily available in Pega Academy, Pega help files, etc.
My advice for those pursuing those exams is to make sure that you study really hard and be able to answer 100% of all the questions related to the course materials (those that are taught), and do your best on those questions that require knowledge that could only be acquired through projects, discussion with CLSAs, and doing your own research.

Think about all the great projects that you had done. Ask yourself: Why was it done in that way? Fire up your Designer Studio and try to do that again in a new different way and observe the results.

Yes, it takes a lot of time, a lot of thinking, and a lot of discussion, but the knowledge that you could gain is immense!

To help with that, most of the How-to Guide will include a Master Beaver Version, which goes into detailed discussions, as well as showing you the impact of changes. Although CLSAs are not supposed to disclose any questions, they can always conduct in-depth discussion on Pega features, the pros and cons, as well as highlighting special areas to take note of when implementing a given feature in projects; thus, this would naturally help in the exams from a more indirect perspective.

In order to launch the book fast and to contribute to the overall Pega community knowledge, the Pega How-to Guide will be released in 3 versions:

  1. Online Version: This is a free version, published at DebunkumBeaver.com. Basically, selected chapters are published and contained all the information required to implement the intended feature. The details and quality of the instructions would often exceed those that are freely available on the Internet.
  2. How-to Version: This version contains all the details steps, including complete screenshots on how to implement the intended feature.
  3. Master Beaver Version: This version contains everything of the How-to Version, with the inclusion of analysis and reasons for doing the given steps, as well as special scenario and limitations of the feature.
