Pega does not provide any guidance on
achieving the CLSA Certification. All it does is state the various
prerequisites and the steps required to achieve it. Thus, there is a gap, as
well as challenges, when one decided to embark on this certification.
Strictly speaking, without this guide, one
can still pass the CLSA 7.3/7.4 Certification --- I am a living example.
However, I had spent a lot of time figuring
things out, asked a lot of clarification questions to various people before finally
understanding the certification path, prerequisites, the pitfalls, etc.
Thus, this guide is a compilation of the
knowledge that I gained along the way, highlighting specific tricks that you
can legally leverage on to improve your chance of passing this certification.
Of course, you could reinvent the wheel and
go through the process, the pitfalls, retake the application build again and
again... but bear in mind, as I shall remind you again, the Pega CLSA
certification is not cheap. On top of that, you can only retake a maximum of 3
times per year, with specific intervals between each.
I had heard that for Pega 7.1 CLSA
(possibly other earlier versions too), there were only 3 different scenarios,
and once you had tried all, you cannot retake any further. Of course, how true
that is, is irrelevant because the key point here is: Don't get yourself into
that situation!
I had seen many people, with around 10
years of Pega experiences ended up in that situation --- practically doing the
CLSA certification throughout their Pega careers, 5.x, 6.x, 7.1, now 7.3/7.4...
I just could not comprehend their thoughts,
why should anyone torture themselves with that? Unless they really enjoy
that...
Taking a step back, wouldn't it be better
to just do it once, and do it good? I did, and I passed the application build
on the 1st attempt.
Don’t you think it is better to join me
than them? 😊
